Happy birthday to Nikolas and Daniella!!

 

Our neighborhood helpers

We learned all about fire fighters and police officers. We learned that they are our friends and help keep us safe. We also learned that the phone number for the fire fighters and police officers is 911. We acted out how fire fighters help people. One child got to dress up as the fire fighter while another called 911 on our pretend phone.

We also had Mr. Genya, the school “fixer man” come to our class and give a demonstration on fixing tools. The children enjoyed seeing and trying the different tools. We got to screw two boards together! The children also acquired a new appreciation for Mr. Genya and all the work that goes into keeping our school running.

all about orange!

 

We have learned another color in the rainbow. We learned all about the color Orange.  We experimented with paint and saw that red and yellow made orange.

Triangles

Back in school and already busy learning something new!
We learned a new shape - triangle. We started our day by playing with goop. We each got a turn to practice making a triangle in our special triangle mats.
By circle time, we learned that a triangle has three sides. We learned a triangle song and traced a triangle with our fingers while singing.

Then we practice making triangles with Popsicle sticks. Afterwards, we took our Popsicle sticks to the table and glued it in the shape of a triangle. We then picked two colorful triangles from our special basket and also glued them on our paper.
