Pomegranate Fun!

Today, we had a lot of fun with a Rimon/Pomegranate. By playtime, Morah Bella opened a pomegranate and separated the seeds from the shell. Some of the children helped out.

Afterwards, we opened another pomegranate by circle time. We saw that there are so many seeds! Morah Perel explained that we want to have so many mitzvos/good deeds just like there are so many seeds. We looked at our Mitzvah Tree and Morah Perel showed us how we each have a pocket to put our mitzvah notes. We want to fill them up!
Then, we tasted the seeds. Wow! They were so tasty! We wanted more and more. But instead Morah Perel showed us how we could pop them with our fingers onto a paper and paint with the juice. Then we went to our seat and made our own art.

Apple in Honey!

Today, we worked on improving our fine motor skills using stickers. It was really hard, but as the children practiced it got easier for them.

Then by circle time, we reviewed our shofar song and learned a new song.
Dip the apple in the honey
make a bracha loud and clear
leshana tova umesuka
have a happy sweet new year
Then we looked in Morah's rosh hashana basket and saw three apples inside. One red apple, one green apple and one yellow apple. Morah Perel gave each child a piece of apple dipped in honey, so they can have a taste of Rosh Hashana. Then, Morah Perel brought 3 bowls of paint to the circle. We saw one bowl had red paint, or green paint, or yellow paint.  We saw how each bowl matched a different apple. We then put on our smocks and headed to the table to paint our own apples.

We love reading!

Monday...

We began to learn about Rosh Hashanah. We looked inside Morah Perel's Rosh Hashanah basket. We found a shofar. We sang our Shofar song. (ttto: The wheels on the bus)
The Shofar in the shul goes toot toot toot (3x)
. . . . on Rosh Hashana day.

Then we found a honey jar and some lemons. We tried them both to see which one is sweet and which is sour. We decided we liked the honey, because it was sweet.

After that, we decorated a card for our parents!

First Days . . . .

The children got to have their first fun Friday. We start the day making challahs. Then we have our regular circle time and breakfast. After that was playtime and then we had our special Friday surprise, Music class! We even had time to play outside before our Shabbos party.
